Amoxicillin belongs to a group of antibiotics called penicillins. It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. The injection is used to treat more serious infections, or in cases where the medicine can't be taken by mouth. Amoxicillin works by interfering with the ability of bacteria to form cell walls. The cell walls of bacteria are vital for their survival. They keep unwanted substances from entering their cells and stop the contents of their cells from leaking out. Amoxicillin impairs the bonds that hold the bacterial cell wall together. This allows holes to appear in the cell walls and kills the bacteria. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills a wide variety of bacteria that cause a wide variety of commonly-occuring infections. Amoxicillin may be used to treat infections of the upper or lower airways, skin or soft tissue, or ears. However, they will not relieve an asthma attack that has already started.Inhaled corticosteroids work by preventing certain cells in the lungs and breathing passages from releasing substances that cause asthma symptoms.Inhaled steroids are used to reduce the inflammation in the breathing tubes and reduce the frequency of asthma flares. Inhaled steroids are considered a "controller" medicine because they help control asthma. Asthmatics who have breathing symptoms more than twice a week during the day or twice a month at night should be on a "controller medicine". Despite being on a "controller" medicine you should also have a "rescue" medicine like Ventolin. "Rescue" medicine is used for quick (emergency) relief of breathing symptoms. Pregnancy can worsen your asthma 1/3 of the time. Having your asthma under good control is critical for a healthy baby - remember you are breathing for you and the baby. The inhaled steroids are safe for use during pregnancy. Be sure to inform your OB/GYN doctor of all the medicines you are taking.

The combination of aspirin and extended-release dipyridamole is in a class of drugs called antiplatelet agents. It works by preventing excessive blood clotting. It is used to reduce the risk of stroke in patients who have had or are at risk of stroke.The combination of aspirin and extended-release dipyridamole comes as a capsule to take by mouth. It is usually taken twice a day, one capsule in the morning and one in the evening. Aspirin and extended-release dipyridamole should be swallowed whole.
